On Thursday, October 8 at 8:15 p.m. Howard Jarvis, the father of California's Proposition 13 will be speaking at West Vancouver Secondary School, 1750 Mathers Ave. This talk is sponsored by the Combined Ratepayers and Tax Control Committee. Tickets are $3.00 per person or two for $5.00 and are available from the committee or from Morley Evans at HALT (688-2308).

The annual meeting of the GVLA will take place at the Mir-a-Mar Hotel (formerly the Rembrandt) on Saturday October 24 at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be to a) elect new officers and b) hold an informal session in which members may present suggestions and air their views. Nominations for the positions of officers may be mailed in or made from the floor. Proxy voting forms will be mailed out to any member who cannot attend.

All are invited to attend but only full members may vote. Libertarian Party and GVLA memberships wll be available on the floor for any who might wish to join.

Plan to attend and participate.

The next meeting of the Libertarian Supper Club will take place immediately following the GVLA's annual meeting on Saturday, October 24 at the Mir-a-Mar Hotel. There will be a cocktail hour until 7:00 at which time a buffet will be served.

The featured speaker will be Bill Buckler, long-time libertarian activist and organizer for HALT. The topic of his presentation will be "The Nature of a Civilized Society".

The cost for the evening will be $16 per person, which includes dinner and wine. Call Marco at 937-0529 for reservations. Plan to attend and bring your friends!
